Easter has come and gone, but the Celebration

is not over!

The Season of Eastertide has begun! Eastertide is the time right after Easter Sunday that lasts for 50 days and ends the day before Pentecost. Easter Sunday is a huge celebration day as Jesus was resurrected from the dead, but that was not the end of the story! Many things happened that are also important during this time. Jesus walks, talks and eats with his disciples in his resurrected body as written in Luke 24. Forty days after his resurrection, (Luke 24, Acts 1:3) Jesus ascends to heaven but promises to send an Advocate. This is known as Ascention Day. Ten days after Jesus’ ascention, the Holy Spirit descends on the believers while Peter is preaching in Jerusalem (Acts 2). These important events fulfill scripture as Jesus had told the Disciples what would happen in the days of his arrest, trial, death, resurrection, ascention and the coming of the Holy Spirit.
