Sunday brings two opportunities for worship at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of DeLand, Early Morning Worship at 8:15 and Morning Worship at 10:45
(follow the links at the top of this page to see details of the Two Morning Worship Services).

Our 10:45 Morning Worship blends the traditional with the contemporary while the 8:15 Early Service is a contemporary, informal setting.

At the center of both the Morning Worship Services is our celebration of Communion.  I Corinthians 11 DSC00817.JPG (326398 bytes)reflects the importance with which we regard the Lord's Supper: "For I received from the Lord what I also handed on to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took a loaf of bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, "This is my body that is for you. Do this in remembrance of me." In the same way he took the cup also, after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me." For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes (I Cor. 11:23-26 NRSV)."

The spoken Word, fellowship and prayers are also important aspects of each worship service.  These elements reflect the worship of the early church as described in Acts 2:42  "They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers."

All are welcome at the Table of the Lord.  Each visitor at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) will be greeted with a warm and friendly welcome.
